The Artemide brand philosophy of “The Human Light” does not focus solely on lighting up rooms – it also has the activities and well-being of human beings at its heart.
Ameluna is a design object produced to high technical standards and with a clear objective: to improve the quality of life in all sorts of different room situations through good lighting and good design.
“We often find our models for saving resources and improving efficiency in nature”, says Artemide Vice President Carlotta de Bevilacqua. “In the deep oceans, almost all living beings have the ability to shine – they convert chemical energy with almost no loss into light: This is biomimicry design.”
The name Ameluna symbolises the cooperation between the two brands, combining the words Artemide, Mercedes-Benz and “luna”, the Italian word for moon. Inspired by the interplay between the moon and the sun, the idea was born for the “Ameluna RGB” variant, with a spot that illuminates the transparent acrylic body just like the sun illuminates the moon.
Ameluna defines its surroundings whilst also adapting to any room situation. With two model versions, its areas of use are as varied as the light moods it creates.
Ameluna is also available with an additional RGB spot which, like the ambient lighting in a Mercedes-Benz car, adds coloured accents and can be used to create individual lighting moods as required using the control app.
Ameluna is one of a new generation of intelligent lamps and has the capacity to interact with the environment. Thus, with its specially developed app, Ameluna registers the lighting atmosphere of the ambient lighting of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class and transmits it into every room. Like the ambient lighting in the new E-Class, Ameluna is controlled using an app. This means that countless individual light atmospheres can be created with Ameluna, alone or switched in series.
