Artemide and Mercedes-Benz Style.
Two brands in a new light.

Artemide and Mercedes-Benz are world famous for their exclusivity and for creating iconic designs.

Two companies, each a leader in its own field, established a partnership that would create synergies for the future.

For Artemide and Mercedes-Benz, the focus is on the human factor and on human needs and experiences. With innovative technologies, high manufacturing standards and a design language based on ethical, sustainable values, they have developed products that are as beautiful as they are durable.

Ameluna is the distilled essence of the brand values pursued by Artemide and Mercedes-Benz Style. The innovative pendant lamp combines Artemide’s lighting expertise with Mercedes-Benz Style ability to use shapes and materials to create emotional design for an individual lifestyle.

To reflect this, the product name Ameluna was chosen – a combination of Artemide, Mercedes-Benz and “luna”, the Italian word for moon.

Artemide

When Ernesto Gismondi founded Artemide in Pregnana Milanese near Milan in 1960, he had a clear objective: to establish a company that would light up the future with technically and aesthetically high-quality products.

Today, Artemide, run by President Ernesto Gismondi and Vice-President Carlotta de Bevilacqua, is a global player in the world of high-end lighting. With its philosophy of “The Human and Responsible Light”, the premium brand is synonymous with exclusive lighting design and Italian innovation.

Artemide light collections are celebrated internationally as icons of contemporary design. Numerous lamps, such as the Tolomeo table lamp designed by Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina in 1986, have won prizes worldwide and are exhibited in museums of modern art and design, including the MoMa in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna in Rome and the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. From the very beginning the company has worked with leading international designers and architects, such as Michele De Lucchi, Norman Foster, Richard Sapper, Naoto Fukasawa, Ross Lovegrove and Jean Nouvel.

Artemide lamps are manufactured in five production plants in Italy, France, Hungary and Canada and in two glass factories. A unique culture of research and innovation supported by cutting-edge prototyping and test laboratories guarantees dynamic development that looks to the future and sets the highest standards of quality in production.

Today, Artemide’s collections represent a unique combination of values. The “Human and Responsible Light” philosophy stands alongside an expertise that combines cutting-edge technology with traditional knowledge – the perfect expression of sustainable design.
